We are in search of a talented, outstanding and dynamic Medical Assistant to join our team in Riverside.
We are looking for a full-time Medical Assistant who is a self starter and can, also, work collaboratively with our team. You will join our team of highly skilled board-certified pain Physicians in helping to improve the lives of each individual you meet through each interaction you have. Medical Assistant Job Requirements:
The exclusive focus for this position is to ensure patients receive the most optimal care when they visit our clinic. The goal is to make sure the physician is able to conduct the patient visit without any delays in care and execute the treatment plan. This will involve preparing, gathering, and distributing patient information throughout the course of their care under our organization.
What You’ll do:
- Answer phone calls
- Communicate patient symptom changes, medications changes or refills, and answering questions regarding procedures
- Verifying patient insurance eligibility utilizing medical group/IPA portals and insurance portals
- Update insurance, prior authorization, medical records information
- Scheduling patient procedures
- Conduct follow up calls post-op
- Prior authorizations for medications and procedures
- Respond to incoming fax, phone or email pharmacy requests
- Scanning and uploading patient documents into the EHR system
- Requesting medical records
- Back office support
- Cleaning and prepping exam rooms
- Rooming patients and taking vitals
- Conducting patient interviews and preparing charts in EHR to reflect patient interview
- Assisting in in-office procedures at the direction of the physician
What You’ll Need :
- Required minimum 1-2 year(s) of experience in a primary care office, specialty office, out/in-patient hospital; training will be provided
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent, Associates Degree (A.A) and/or graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
- Language: Bilingual in Spanish or Chinese preferred
- The ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Strong clinical, computer, work ethics
- Ability to type 50+ WPM, Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Powerpoint, Email and Calendar software: Outlook, Gmail and an understanding of keyboard functions and shortcuts
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problem solving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- This position is performed in a medical office setting and frequent standing, sitting typing is required
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing, cabinets and fax machines

- Must have the ability to push, pull, lift and or carry up to 50 pounds
