The Position: We are currently in search of a Medical Assistant for our Pediactric office. The Medical Assistant's main responsibility includes fostering patient and family centered care and nursing services in accordance with the Lifespan's mission, vision, values, with consideration of the life span, including all developmental stages as well as cultural patterns.This is an hourly, full time position with a schedule of 40 weekly hours, Monday through Friday.
This position is located in Wakefield RI

Essential Functions: Follows the practice, clinic, or office workflow protocols to maximize quality and efficiency
Performs pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating the patient record prior to the appointment with recent test results, consults, correspondence, etc, and determines needed services based on practice protocols. Communications point of care reminders to providers via the electronic medical record (EMR)
Prepares patients for examination and treatment in accordance to their clinic specific workflow protocol, by escorting from the waiting area to the exam room
Performs testing procedures such as blood pressure, EKG, pulse oximetry, Hgb A1-C, glucose, urinalysis, urine hcg, rapid strep test, and other point of care tests
Complete appropriate follow up work after visit including, but not limited to, ensuring all blood and specimens are properly labeled and sent to lab
Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalent
Medical Assistant Certification or equivalent training/experience as acceptable to the Practice Manager
Will Consider training the right applicant
Familiarity using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
Any combination of education and experience that is substantially equivalent is also acceptable
