To participate in the delivery of care to the service users ensuring that their physical, social, intellectual and emotional needs are met.

- To ensure that all aspects of the Regulatory Framework are met.
- Work effectively with others within the home to ensure that service user's needs are fully met.

Responsibilities and Duties
- To ensure each service user receives assistance with all elements of their personal care to include washing, dressing and assisting service users in all aspects of daily living
- To participate with the team for continual monitoring of each service users health needs. To include appropriate liaison with senior staff and other relevant staff.
- To have an understanding of service users risk management plans and work appropriately.
- To assist service users who have mobility problems and other physical disabilities, including incontinence. To assist in the use, maintenance and care of personal aids and equipment.
- To help serve meals, prepare and clear dining room and assist service users with eating and drinking as required.
- To answer call bells, the door, answer the telephone and greet visitors in a courteous manner..
- Assist as required with social functions held at the home.
- To make written, legible observations of the service users and report any changes in service users condition directly to the nurse in charge.
- To attend mandatory training sessions as directed by the Home Manager.
- To understand and observe all relevant regulations and company policies and procedures.
- To follow appropriate procedures in the event of accidents/ emergencies. Eg fire, missing service users.
- Ensure that the home is secure at all times whilst on duty.
- To report to relevant persons with respect to the repairs and maintenance of the home.
- To ensure that unnecessary damage to building and contents is not caused by careless movement wheelchairs, trolleys or hoists.
- To be approachable, flexible and supportive to staff and managers.
- To attend staff meetings when appropriate.
- Attend supervision meetings with your appointed supervisor at least six times per year.(pro rata for part time staff)
- To maintain confidentiality at all times.
- To be aware of and comply with safe working practices as laid down by the Health and Safety at Work Act.
- Uphold and promote anti discriminatory practice, equality and diversity throughout your work.
- To report any incidents or allegations of abuse following the correct steps in line with the company Safeguarding Adult Policies and procedures and Local Safeguarding Adults policies.
- To undertake such other duties as may be mutually determined from time to time.
