Schedule: Full Time Days
Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, hours may vary
Location: Offices in Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach, Port Orange, New Smyrna Beach
The role you’ll contribute:
The Uncertified Medical Assistant, under close supervision, provides appropriate care to patients as well as follows AdventHealth service standards. This includes safely and effectively greeting patients, obtaining clinical information, financial and demographic information. Responsible for assisting providers during treatment and examination and may assist with procedures and medication administration as ordered by the provider upon successful completion of necessary competencies. Performs office duties as needed; which includes but is not limited to, verifying insurance, collecting copays and scheduling necessary appointments.

- Assist with screenings per physician orders and enters all information accurately and at the time of service or results
- Performs clinical intake according to AHMG policy and procedures
- May be responsible for assisting with minor procedures associated with specialty care
- Provides and ensures patients receive whole care in all aspects of an office visit, regarding intake, test results, screenings, labs, medication administration, closure of care gaps and all aspects necessary following AHMG policies.
- May be required to travel to satellite offices
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- BLS/CPR certification is required.
- Completion of an approved MA training program within the last five (5) years OR minimum of 6 months experience working as a Medical Assistant OR A minimum of 6 months clinical experience within the past 3 years such as:
o Firefighter/medic EMT
o CNA
o Nursing student, program in progress
o Ophthalmologist technician
o BMO
o Noncertified MA
o Pharmacy Technologist
o Or an equivalent clinical role
Preferred qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year working experience within the medical/healthcare field with experience communicating with all levels of staff.
