Position Title: Social Media Specialist

Reports to: Digital, Brand and Marketing Manager
Status: Full-time, Exempt
Location: Garden Grove, California, United States (On-site)
Starting Rate of Pay: $64,480
The Office of Communications at the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange seeks a creative and skilled Social Media Specialist (SMS) to join its team. This position is responsible for developing and executing innovative social media strategies to create awareness of current happenings and evangelization efforts in and around the Diocese. The SMS will produce a dynamic and effective social media calendar, create original content and increase engagement and followers on all Diocesan social media channels.
Candidate must have a proven track record of successfully managing social media channels and demonstrate a high level of proficiency creating engaging content. This is a unique opportunity for a creative and motivated social media professional to raise the social media bar for one of the largest
Roman Catholic Diocese in the United States. The position reports to the Digital, Brand and Marketing
Manager and is located at the headquarters of the Diocese of Orange in Garden Grove, California.
Primary Responsibilities:
● Develop, implement and maintain a detailed social media calendar for all
Diocesan-run social media accounts.
● Develop engaging captions and visually appealing graphics for social media in-line
with Diocesan digital brand.
● Lead the social accounts with original content to further diocesan brand.
● Maintain a brand consistency in every post (i.e. profile page is visually appealing
and easily identifiable as our brand through voice, colors, fonts and visuals).
● Schedule social media posts in a timely manner to meet timeline goals.
● Continually assess social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn,
YouTube, etc.) to maximize outreach, engagement and evangelization.
● Update link landing page (Linkin.bio) to increase visibility and access to important
links.
● Measure, evaluate and report performance of social media efforts (using site
metrics) to ensure proper outreach of target audiences.
● Research social media trends and inform management of changes that are
relevant to the diocesan goals.
Qualifications and Skills:
● Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, or related field.
● Two plus years of experience in social medica/communications.
● Passion and successful track record for developing innovative and engaging social
media content.
● Knowledge of social media trends and ability to capitalize on trends to further
social media goals.
● Excellent copywriting skills.
● Proficiency in social media management platforms (i.e., Later, Hootsuite, Buffer,
etc.).
● Understands the importance of applying brand management and brand
awareness lens to social media content.
● Passion and/or familiarity with Roman Catholic teachings and doctrine.
● Excellent time management skills.
● Ability to work independently and thrives in a fast pace and collaborative work
environment.

Pay: From $64,480.00 per year
