Social Media Designer
Melon Local is looking for a creative Social Media Designer who has a passion for cultivating a strong social media presence through epic graphic design! If you’ve ever wanted to grow your career with the coolest marketing agencies out there, this is the place to be! This position will be working at the HQ in Las Vegas, where the rest of our awesome team works (though we are nationwide in scope). Melon is seeking 1 innovative Social Media Designer with excellent social media & content creation skills, yet still likes to break out of the traditional box that most companies try to put people in. Our goal is to continue to be the most fun and inclusive agency that serves insurance agents and their businesses anywhere in the US.
This Social Media Designer will take inspiration from written or spoken ideas and convert them seamlessly into images, layouts and other designs. The ideal candidate should have an intimate understanding of how marketing campaigns work, in both B2B and B2C marketing, to support our agency and our clients. This person will be able to hit the ground running and easily jump between social media graphics, laying out campaign strategy, landing page design and more. This designer will be responsible for continually discovering what’s important to our clients and their potential customers, then finding a creative way to connect the dots and establish an effective social strategy that gets results - all while being supported by the most innovative team in the industry!
Starting pay is based on previous social media experience in a professional environment – former agency setting preferred – ranging from $40,000 - $50,000 salary (DOE).
Responsibilities:
- Work simultaneously on multiple projects based on internal and external workload
- Create visual aspects of marketing materials, websites and other media, including infographics
- Put together disparate elements of a design created by another professional, such as the icons, photographs, brand elements and other components necessary
- Strategize with our marketing and sales teams to create cohesive designs that reflect both our agency’s and our clients’ corporate cultures and goals
- Develop and curate engaging content for social media platforms: FB, LI and IG
- Collaborate with marketing team to create a social media calendar
- Proofread – check and double check for errors
- Curating and managing social media content for our clients
- Assist in the creation and editing of written, video and photo content
- Maintain unified brand voice across different social media channels
- Monitor social media channels for industry trends
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art Design, Marketing or related discipline is preferred, but not required
- Extensive experience with Canva, Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign, specifically with print mockups, web design and multimedia presentation is a MUST
- 2+ years of experience in professional commercial design, B2C/B2B social media management, or content creation in general
- Experience working with Marketing Agencies is a huge plus
- Direct experience using social media management tools (Hootsuite, Sprinklr, SOCi, FB, etc) is a huge plus
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and Zoom is a plus
- A solid understanding of both B2C and B2B marketing strategy
- Adaptive design eye and skills
- Great communication skills
- Ability to absorb and apply constructive criticism from peers and clients
- Strong portfolio required
