Job Title Media Specialist I
Job Classification Exempt
- Work under immediate supervision and report to a team lead or supervisor
- Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
- Research and develop media outreach products for maximum impact and flexibility to be leveraged across multiple venues and platforms
- Create and manage targeted media lists
- Actively participate in brainstorming sessions to generate ideas, identify research content, and develop clear, concise, and compelling communication products
- Develop written content and technical commentary for media
- Generate routine and/or ad-hoc reports for OCOMM management/OCOMM customers
- May directly interface with OCOMM management and/or OCOMM customers
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, writing, or other appropriate area of specialization from an accredited college or university
- A high school diploma or equivalent, along with at least 5 years of relevant experience may be substituted for a college degree
- Proficient in oral and written communications, including writing and editing
- Advanced problem-solving skills

If required, employees must be able to operate a motor vehicle which may require sitting for prolonged periods of time to visit other company sites. Must have hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone. Standing in work areas and walking between work areas may be required. This position may require an employee to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance, reach, push, and pull. The employee may also be required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
