BENEFITS
Assist the Associate Athletic Director of Media Relations with the development and implementation of the Athletic Department public relations strategies, including the University and the media.
The following are the functions essential to performing this job:
1. Game Day Media relations responsibility for all Olympic sports
2. Assist in the design and layout for all media guides, specific responsibility for Olympic sports.
3. Assist in the raining of staff in the use of desktop publishing software and other computer programming.
4. Assist with the coordination of sports media department travel.
5. Game day announcer for football and basketball games
6. Any other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director and the Assistant Athletic Director for Media
Relations
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The individual in this job must possess these skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that they
can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation using some other
combination of skills and abilities:
1. Computer experience in publishing software
2. Demonstrated experience in layout design.
3. Ability to multi-task and prioritize within the demands of a diverse 18-sport athletic department.
1. Education: Bachelor’s degree (Master’s Degree preferred)
2. Successful Experience: Minimum of two (2) years experience at the high collegiate level
3. Other Preferences: Publication and layout experience, computer skills and excellent communication skills
The criteria for evaluation in this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Demonstrate knowledge of the DSU Fundamentals
2. Effective interpersonal relationships and communication with athletes, co-workers and administration
