Position Overview

Accountable for executing technical expertise and production related to instructional/informational design and development, appropriate content treatment and media, and effective delivery strategies. They drive collaboration with cross-functional project teams to advance digital experiences through the creation of compelling storytelling, high-quality instructional and promotional digital media assets (video, animations, graphics, simulations, illustrations, photos, infographics, audio, etc.) for use with data-driven best practices that advance recruitment, retention, and engagement outcomes of online and digital learners.

Responsibilities

  • Design Process: Utilize the design thinking model to help facilitate human-centered and outcome-driven solutions for digital learning experiences with technology; including empathy personas, needs analysis, ideating, testing, and prototyping with techniques such as mock-ups, wire frames, storyboards, scripts that lead to the production of high-impact materials. Coordinate and produce excellent, high-impact technical design assets for an accessible learning experience (how-to guides, infographics, flyers, processes, webpages, templates, examples, etc.) and facilitate experiences (training, micro-courses, learning communities, presentations, etc.) serve university needs and meet division goals; maintenance of production studios and equipment.
  • Design Production: Produce graphics, video, and interactive media using brand identity and accessibility standards; Apply critical thinking to analyze a challenge or goal to the discipline of instructional design or learning experience design and develop creative solutions and designs using innovative technology latest authoring tools, technologies, and methodologies, and testing and quality assurance; Integrating principles of user experience design to create engaging and immersive learning experiences.
  • Project Management: Manage efficiency in initializing, coordinating, and managing multiple project plans; design and production projects for improving the digital learning experience and materials to meet deadlines; Evaluates production flow and individual production rates to assess the work quality, feedback iteration, and timeliness of deliverables.
  • Relationship Management: Establishes and maintains positive relationships with team members and stakeholders, understanding their strengths and skillsets, communication styles, and motivation to effectively drive results.
  • Position Impact: Enhance division and organization reputation of strategy and innovation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring innovative opportunities to add value to organization accomplishments. ·
  • Professional Growth: Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in instructional Technology, Digital Media, Graphic Design, or related field

  • 5+ experience in interactive media and design with digital learning tools such as LMS (Canvas preferred), Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premier Pro), Content Authoring (Articulate 360), Data Tracking (Scorm xAPI, API), HTML5, CSS.

  • 3+ in achieving interactive media (video, graphics, photography, simulations, advertisements, etc.) project goals from ideation to completion with measurable results end to end. ·

  • Considerable experience in taking the initiative, managing projects, and prioritizing work while advancing multiple projects simultaneously

  • Considerable experience creating engaging content through writing, shooting, and editing video, photography, and content according to brand guidelines for digital platforms. · Considerable experience in proficiency in verbal and written communication skills; including communicating technical information in terms understandable to diverse audiences.

  • Considerable experience in the use of analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Considerable ability and willingness to work independently and in a team environment; including physical or virtual environments with a passion for supporting and serving as an advocate of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

  • Considerable relationship management skills, including diplomatically addressing questions, or concerns and successfully resolving challenges and generating solutions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree and certifications related to digital learning and design
  • Considerable experience with teaching or training users (instructors, staff, students) on effective uses of technologies
  • Considerable experience in specialized interactive media skills: Content development UX/UI, ADA regulations and Section 508 and web accessibility compliance
  • Some experience or ability in teaching or training; work within an LMS (Canvas preferred)
  • Some experience in creating custom interactive media within a higher education institution;
  • Some experience in leading photography, video production, location visits, and other stages of the creative development or production process.
  • Our digital transformation team follows a hybrid schedule working; candidates should be able to commute to the campus at least 2 days per month, unless otherwise agreed. Our in-office time is used primarily for team meetings, relationship building, and high-collaboration projects.
