Newsquest Scotland’s Magazine division is looking for an ambitious and results-driven hunter-style Media Sales Executive with a proven commercial track record in growing advertising revenues across print, digital and social media platforms. This is an excellent opportunity for a sales-driven individual who is looking for a rewarding sales role that can offer a blend of working from home, visiting clients, and being with your team within our two Glasgow-based offices.
Our award-winning Magazine Division are proud publishers of: The Scottish Farmer, Forestry Journal, essentialARB, Country Lifestyle Scotland, Scottish Walks & Cycling, Scottish Gardener, Scottish Mountaineer, amongst a portfolio of contract publishing works.
Working as part of the experienced and dedicated sales team, you will be responsible for managing existing territories and generating new business across our multiple print, digital and social media platforms. You will provide a first-class service and build upon an already established publication base while delivering effective advertising solutions in an ever-changing market.
The successful candidate requirements:
- A proven track record in a high-volume sales-driven environment ideally with a minimum of 3 years print and digital media sales experience in Newspapers and/or Magazines.
- Thrive in a sales focussed, target-driven environment.
- A talented multi-tasker who can confidently work across multiple platforms, publications, and projects at any given time, and remain strong under pressure.
- A creative thinker with the ability necessary to adapt to ever evolving business needs and shifting markets.
- Have excellent communication and presentation skills; well-developed influencing and persuading skills, with previous experience of working across a diverse range of products and building strong relationships both internally and externally.
- Be a confident, self-motivated, and effective communicator with an unrelenting positive can-do attitude.
- Be a team player, able to operate within a relatively non-hierarchical style of management which can respond promptly and effectively within a very fast-paced environment
- Have highly developed keyboard skills as you will be inputting advertisements directly into our computerised system.
- Clear, articulate, and engaging communication skills on phone, video calls, email, and in person face to face.
- Be able to demonstrate initiative, energy, drive, and tenacity with an enthusiastic approach in today’s competitive marketplace.
- Have evidence of previous successful media campaigns to present.
