urbansoul inc. is a boutique independent film and tv production company based in Toronto, Canada with a focus on projects that give voice to black women and women of colour in front of and behind the scenes. It was founded in 2002 by Sharon Lewis and although urbansoul’s roots are in the award-winning work that Sharon Lewis has done as a director/producer/writer, urbansoul is now firmly planted in producing film and new media projects. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
urbansoul inc. is looking for a thoughtful and creativeSocial Media Coordinator who will manage the social media strategy and multiple accounts for the company which includes the branding for Director Sharon Lewis and current films on the market. We want to see your skills and imagination in creating content that is in line with the positivity of the black and women of color film and tv community. We want to engage with our community as we foster and support using social media.
The Social Media Coordinator will report to the Marketing Manager and carry out weekly social media strategy, content creation, posting and engagement on Instagram and Facebook and other appropriate platforms ultimately developing a consistent, relevant and creative brand voice for Sharon Lewis and urbansoul inc. The Social Media Coordinator will work remotely and need access to their own computer, secure wifi connection, and smartphone. External harddrives will be provided by urbansoul inc.

The Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for:
- Assessing the current social media strategy & goals and advising on opportunities for improvement
- Creating Monthly Video Content
- Posting 3-4 times per week on each platform
- Maintaining a professional, supportive, cultured, respected & respectful, authentic, conversational brand voice for @thesharonlewis
- Staying up to date on BIPOC TV & Film news and industry trends
JOB SKILLS
- Creative eye and attention to detail
- Minimum 2 years of experience with social media content creation and copywriting, preferably in the film industry.
- Graphic Design experience (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or Canva) and ability to edit videos for social media platforms
- Self starter with the ability to work independently
- Organized and able to create schedules and adhere to them.
- Comfort/interest and/or knowledge of the film/tv industry in Canada and the U.S.
- Comfort/interest and/or knowledge of issues affecting BIPOC, 2SLGBTQIA+ and feminist community.
- Asset management experience using Google Drive, Apple Photos.
- Content planning experience using Hootsuite, Buffer or other.
