Our award winning apprenticeship programme is a four year programme, the first three years are spent on the job learning in the depot with an allocated mentor and attending a specialist training college in either Glasgow or Wolverhampton (depending on home location). This will be 8 – 9 separate weeks per year on block release. Travel and accommodation whilst at college will be paid for by the Company.
You will work towards a ‘Mechelec’ qualification, so will be equally skilled in both mechanical and electrical engineering.

The fourth year of the programme has been specifically designed by Stagecoach UK Bus to consolidate technical skills, by way of attendance at a series of development courses including manufacturer’s technical courses.
After four years you will be fully industry skilled, with the prospect of a rewarding career ahead of you. Further progression towards an engineering management position may then be available through our Staff Development Programme.

It’s a really important role within our depot but don’t worry, we’ll train you on everything you need to know, and you’ll be supported by a great team of Electricians, Technicians and Engineering Managers who all pull together to do a brilliant job.

We’ll support you every step of the way in your career. You will be given exposure to work which will develop your skills and experience to allow you to progress your career further.
Many of our Stagecoach Engineering Directors and Managers started off as apprentices, including Sam, our Group Engineering Director! So that could very well be you in the not too distant future!

The only things we need from you are 3 GCSEs at Grade C (or above) or Grade 4 (or above) or equivalent in English, Mathematics and a Science or 3 standard grades (3 or above) or National 4 or 5 in English, Mathematics and a Science.
