We are currently looking for a Mechanical Technician to join our friendly team at the Tunstead site in Buxton. This role will offer suitable candidates the opportunity for training as well as development opportunities within Tarmac.

Role Responsibility
This is an exciting role within the Cement Packing Plant for someone with a proactive approach to maintenance, plant optimisation and self-development
Reporting to the Packing Plant Maintenance Engineer and being part of the maintenance team, the job holder will be accountable for executing all preventative maintenance, responding to breakdowns and plant improvements of the Packing Plant.
This job is an integral part of the Packing Plant structure, working as one team with the operations personnel to ensure all KPI’s are achieved on a daily, weekly & annual basis.
On a day to day basis, the successful Mechanical Technician's duties & responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following:
Contractor management process is followed for all contractual works carried out on site.
Maintain & develop Risk Assessment/SSOW systems to ensure all are kept up to date and relevant.
Carrying out period inspections throughout the plant & reporting findings into Maintenance reliability technician
Facilitating the execution of all maintenance work orders.
Responding to breakdowns in a timely manner
Being able to fault find and carry out corrective maintenance in a cost-effective manner
Using databases to locate spares and retrieve from P&S department as required
Continuous improvements of the plant, maintenance methods to deliver cost reductions
Building relationships and working with all OEM suppliers & engineers.
Assisting with annual shutdown to include planning, execution & contractor management.
