Morrison Water Services is recruiting for a MEICA Mechanical Project Engineer to work on our Caledonia Water Alliance contract in Stepps. Glasgow.

Caledonia Water Alliance is a Joint Venture alliance between Aecom and Morrison Water Services. Supporting the delivery of Scottish Water's SR21 Capital Investment programme. Who are responsible for the delivery of a £700M water and wastewater infrastructure programme over a 6 year alliance framework.

As a/the Mechanical Project Engineer you will be part of our MEICA Team who are responsible for the technical solutions for the mechanical element of CWA projects. .

As the Mechanical Project Engineer you will be responsibile for Working alongside the CWA Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) department and other members of the project team. Alongside leadership to drive the successful delivery of projects to the highest standards. You will manage the delivery of the mechanical element of MEICA projects delivery. Ensuring that you stick to an agreed time, cost & quality requirements to assist the project delivery team and CWA management team. You will provide assistance to the site technical delivery element of capital projects from conception, through design and procurement, to final handover. Ensuring that all technical deliverables are achieved. In accordance with current regulations and procedures.

You will also be responsible for providing technical interpretation of technical drawings and work packages to provide accurate estimates from sub-contractors. Providing knowledge to the CWA design function regarding installation issues and sub-contract evaluations. You will need to carry out sub-contractor liaison during the project target and delivery pricing periods. Issuing quotation request packages in support of the commercial and design teams. In order to determine the most suitable and cost effective MEICA equipment and sub-contractor delivery function. You will work with all other MEICA delivery team personnel to compile, update, manage and submit project specific documentation pertaining to the different project phases. Defect and snagging lists, test documentation, Inspection and Test Plans, Training Plans, Asset data information, red line drawing and “as built” updates. This is to include taking a lead role in producing and managing project documentation where required.

You will need to liaise with both internal and external project stakeholders. To provide a technical delivery prospective and ensure that both the client’s and the business needs are being met. You will have to provide assistance of the management of sub-contract labour on site, checking, appraising safe system of work documentation. Providing a CWA point of contact when sub-contract labour is present on site. You will also liaise with the MEICA site personnel to provide input to the MEICA Manager with regards progress reports and programme plans.
You will have to provide support to the MEICA site personnel for the procurement of the mechanical plant and equipment associated with projects. Ensure that all material Procurement Schedules are maintained and updated to provide a real time overview to the MEICA project team. You will familiarise themselves with the MEICA standard templates produced for the CWA project documentation and use this documentation correctly. You will need to provide input to the commercial team in support of the MEICA function to ensure any scope changes, Early Warnings, Compensation Events. Ensuring variations are captured immediately. Taking cognisance of the impact on project/program budgets. You will need to prepare technical reports for the CWA Management team where required.
