“This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established asset management maintenance team. Applications are welcomed from motivated, enthusiastic individuals who would like to become part of our team which provides maintenance and breakdown support to the site; the role is to provide general support to the team’s maintenance activities and additional administrative support, including the processing of work orders and the purchase of parts/equipment. The successful candidate would ideally have a background of maintenance within a nuclear or similarly regulated environment, with a good working knowledge mechanical and electrical systems.
Key Deliverables
- Carry out routine maintenance tasks as directed by the Maintenance Manager or Maintenance Supervisor.
- Assist with the delivery of maintenance and breakdown activities as required.
- Assist with the production and/or review of safety documentation.
- Process CMMS Mainsaver Work Order’s ensuring timely close-out.
- Raise Corrective Work Orders as directed by Maintenance Supervisors.
- Obtain quotes for equipment/spares where requested.
- Raise purchase orders in accordance with ordering procedures and receipting of delivered items.
- Undertake management of storage for workshop items and stock control.
- Maintain records.
- Act as contractor escort attending site for planned maintenance activities and corrective works/breakdowns.
- Provide offsite support e.g., undertaking specific trips to deliver/pick-up maintenance equipment for calibration/repair.
- Ensure work areas are maintained in a safe and tidy manner.
- Support the effective deployment of company-wide policies, processes, systems and procedures ensuring that at all times the business remains compliant. This includes, but is not limited to, the need to comply with the company’s Equality and Diversity Policy and undertake identified associated learning and development activities.
- The post holder will be required to achieve various authorisations in order to carry out the full scope of the role and hold a series of safety related posts (after relevant training).
Qualifications and Experience
- A good standard of general education with GCSE pass in English & Mathematics or equivalent level of literacy and numeracy – NQF level 3 – Essential
- Experience of maintenance activities – Desirable
- Awareness of working within a radiological, industrial or nuclear environment – Desirable
- Working knowledge of MS Office and familiarisation of CMMS – Desirable
- Good organisational skills - Essential
- Able to follow instruction and work methodically through tasks – Essential
- Understanding of engineering and technical terms/jargon – Desirable
- An awareness of safe working practices relating to maintenance and/or installation work - Essential
- Able to be a classified radiation worker in accordance with Ionising Radiation Regulations – Essential

There is a requirement to live within a commutable distance to the sites where the role is based. For central/multi-site roles, we have various hubs across the UK and can be flexible with base location.
