Position
We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical engineer with building services experience to join us in our Brierley Hill site. Reporting to the design manager, you will work as part of the mechanical design team to deliver projects from feasibility through to construction. The projects range from heating feasibility studies, boiler upgrades and decarbonisation schemes such as Air Source heat pump installs through to technical coordinated design for large multinational clients.
Daily tasks would include producing drawings specifications and reports using relevant software packages such as AutoCAD, TAS, Hevacomp, Open Buildings and Microsoft Office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contributing to developing the design of engineering solutions and systems withing the built environment
- Producing mechanical designs and drawings for a wide range of building services and renewable projects
- Using AutoCAD to generate working drawings for construction projects
- Producing reports to support design concepts that show compliance with standards and best practice guides
- Producing mechanical engineering specifications for a wide range of projects
- Carrying out site surveys inspecting existing installations in accordance with regulations
- Carrying out inspections on ongoing installations reviewing progress, quality, and performance
- Attend and participate in client meetings and site meetings
- Attend and participate in design team meetings with wider disciplines
- Attend internal design department meetings and participate in time management and workload planning
- Build relationships with clients through good communication and output
Requirements
- HNC in mechanical engineering or equal professional qualifications
- Building services industry experience
- Experience in mechanical engineering, engineering consultancy, Contractor design and/or mechanical installations
- Experience in design calculation software packages: AutoCAD, TAS, Hevacomp, Cymap, IES
- Good working knowledge of industry regulations, mechanical design and installations
- Good working knowledge of utility services
- Able to manage/prioritise workload to meet deadlines whilst maintaining good communication with client and design teams
- Valid right to work in the UK
Desirable Criteria:
- Project leading / client facing experience
- Project management/leading building services projects
- Experience in BIM projects and Revit modelling
- Experience in renewable technology and renewable systems
