Job description
Job Summary:The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will provide Mechanical and Systems Engineering support for Newberry products in the chiller portfolio. This individual will support and lead a diverse mixture of sustaining, custom order and new product development projects by applying Engineering principles and technical rigor to develop solutions that satisfy product requirements, cost, quality and schedule.

Responsibilities:
- Generate, evaluate, analyze and develop design concepts for mechanical components and assemblies to meet new product requirements provided by Product Management.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of engineering designs, drawings, documentation and Bill of Materials.
- Maintain orderly project records. Analyze, condense and present data results and recommendations.
- Develop and lead project plans, prioritize tasks, and write clear technical requirements in collaboration with product development teams and suppliers, and present materials in formal and informal environments.
- Provide guidance and leadership to lab technicians and other team members.
- Author lab test plans, conduct testing, analyze and interpret results and execute design updates based on the results.
- Domestic and international travel (up to 10%) may be required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 5-7 years experience in engineering or product development is required.
- Creo proficiency required
- Expertise in PLM system management - Windchill.
- Knowledge of refrigeration system technologies.
Key Competencies:
- Understanding and experience with chiller applications and/or HVAC a plus
- Ability to quickly and efficiently understand, condense, and organize information to make informed engineering decisions.
- Self-motivated with strong collaboration skills. Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams spread across multiple geographical regions.
