SRC Infrastructure has been providing project management and engineering-based advisory, consultancy and managed services solutions to UK infrastructure clients for almost 20 years. We are a small to medium sized company that has built a strong reputation delivering multi-disciplinary projects and programmes for private and public sector clients. We carry out multi-disciplinary design packages and support clients with turnkey domain expertise in their teams.
We are currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our collaborative and dynamic team and contribute to achieve year on year growth.

Job Summary
Day-to-day, you will be involved in the development of mechanical engineering solutions to a variety of our clients projects within the rail industry, from concept to construction. The role offers a great opportunity to join successful, established teams and work alongside some of the best engineers on a wide variety of major projects across the UK’s rail industry. The role includes all aspects of technical delivery, work winning and client engagement. Our ideal candidate is adaptable, pragmatic and passionate about delivering solutions that will enable our clients to deliver better infrastructure within the rail industry.
Role accountabilities:
· Interpretation and implementation of client specification requirements in the development of designs and engineering solutions
· Design of pipework including heating, cooling, hot and cold water systems
· Design of ventilation systems including general ventilation systems
· Selection of plant and equipment items based upon designs produced including but not limited to Air Handling Units, Fans, Pumps, Pressurisation Units, Boilers, Heat emitters, Chillers, Ductwork and ductwork ancillaries, Pipework and pipework ancillaries
· Inputs to the formulation of technical proposals and their presentation to potential clients
· Accountable for the effective delivery of the assigned tasks and deliverables of Projects to time, to the required quality and budget
· Maintain good relationships with client’s key representatives, and contribute to the marketing / networking of the company to potential customers
· Contribute to the overall team development and growth through strategic inputs, skill development and mentoring intermediate and graduate engineers
· Manage and plan your work and deliverables while working on multiple projects to meet the expected delivery milestones
· Identify and implement digital initiatives to drive efficiency and productivity in project delivery
Essential Criteria:
· Right to work in the UK
· Degree in Engineering (Bsc, MSc or MEng) or equivalent
· At least 5+ years, post-graduate experience in mechanical engineering
· Experience in the Rail Industry and a sound understanding of the Rail Environment, rules and regulations
· Experience of mechanical building services design in the rail environment, including: heating, cooling, hot and cold water, and ventilation systems
· Working knowledge of the design of above ground plumbing and waste systems, rainwater disposal systems, drainage systems, controls/BMS for mechanical systems
· Experience and good knowledge of using mechanical engineering standards and specifications (Rail or Building related)
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Proven ability to work under pressure within time constraints
· Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base
· Proven capability to build relationships, be proactive and be part of a variety of teams, including multidisciplinary teams
· Computer literate and good experience of computer software programs such as, MS Office (Word, Excel, Project)
· A challenging attitude towards solving engineering problems to achieve cost effective designs and develop innovative solutions
· Experience and good knowledge of TfL Pathway or Network Rail GRIP, PACE and engineering standards and specifications
Desirable Criteria:
· Working towards Chartered Mechanical Engineer (CEng, IMechE)
· Experience in the design of rail-related mechanical systems
· Knowledge of the complete project life cycle
· Good knowledge of TfL or Network Rail standards, systems and procedures
· Knowledge of TfL or Network Rail assurance processes
