A Mechanical Engineer job in Grand Island, NY is currently available at SEE. You will be responsible for working with the core development team to engineer electro-mechanical assemblies and detail drawings (using SolidWorks 3D CAD) and documentation packages with (BOM) bill of materials to facilitate outsourced contract manufacturing. To be successful in this role, you must be familiar with Microsoft Excel, Word. Electrical, process, and system engineering experience is a plus. Job Description
Work with other development engineers on new electro-mechanical designs to support imaging development efforts
Will be expected to contribute to brainstorming sessions on new developments that will help shape the architecture for these systems
Prepare detail drawings and complete documentation packages
Coordinate with production engineering/technical team to facilitate transition to manufacturing
Participate with floor assembly personnel to answer questions/assembly detail on first builds
Support manufacturing department with system development, fabrication and troubleshooting
Qualifications
BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Technology
Must have Solidworks CAD and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing experience
Must be able to analyze electro-mechanical systems and suggest appropriate upgrades
Ability to meet technical challenges with creative and innovative solutions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Exceptional problem solving and mechanical design abilities
Possesses a strong “hands-on” aptitude with regards to equipment and/or mechanisms
Ability to effectively communicate and multi-task
A minimum of 5-7 years of engineering experience with 10+ years desired
