Job description

The position will work closely with our engineers and architects as part of a multi-discipline design team. Additionally, the candidate will complement our current team with RS&H client responsibilities. The candidate will be part of a team that serves clients in all markets including Commercial, Health, Science, Aviation and Federal.
This position performs basic engineering assignments requiring the application of standard engineering principles and concepts. This position helps perform design tasks and coordinates design and construction activities, studies, and various analyses.
Essential Functions:
- Performs routine assignments including compiling data and assisting with permit and report preparation, and material testing.
- Completes elementary design calculations and prepares quantity takeoffs and estimates and engineering plans utilizing advanced software and technology.
- Performs basic design tasks utilizing engineering software and technology. Prepares drawings and visual aids.
- Performs as-needed field reviews and observations of ongoing construction projects to gain increased understanding of construction practices and design applications.
- Becomes knowledgeable of all applicable federal, state, and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances that are pertinent to respective discipline.
- Performs all other duties as assigned and within scope of practice
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Able to work in a collaborative team environment
- College coursework related to HVAC
- Working knowledge of building codes and ASHRAE
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2010 and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Interest working on building and site design
- Experience with REVIT
- Ability to travel on a limited basis
- EIT certification
- Internship / co-op experience performing mechanical engineering work experience in building design in an A/E firm preferred
- Must possess basic knowledge of production software.
- Must possess solid oral and written communications skills.
- Musthave the ability to effectively interact with and build relationships with others
