Job description
SSLC Vancouver is currently looking to hire Instructors for our English language programs on campus. Full-time positions will start training the last week of June and commence teaching from July 4.
There are positions in adult ESL, teen ESL and children's ESL.
We are continually seeking Instructors to work as substitute teachers as needed as well. Sub work can be both short (1-2 days) and long-term, and there is plenty of on-call work for teachers looking to have a flexible schedule.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's Degree and a TESOL, TESL, or CELTA Certificate (from a TESL Canada accredited institution)
- Children's ESL - a Bachelor of Education or BA + TESOL and some teaching experience with children necessary
- You must be legally able to work in Canada.
Qualities required for position:
- ability to assist and educate adult students
- excellent oral communication, clear pronunciation and enunciation
- knowledge in English grammar combined with academic writing
- ability to work in a team and independently
- strong organizational skills
- practical experience related to area of instruction & experience working with international students
- excellent classroom management skills
Work hours
Regular class times are 9:00am-12:00pm/1:00-3:00pm from Monday-Friday, for 25 teaching hours a week.
Note: These are union positions with a set starting hourly pay rate of $25.60; the rate increases to $28.40 after the probation period.
