GMM Pfaudler are looking to recruit a Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team. Based in Leven, a manufacturing site with a rich history, you will be involved in the design, manufacture and refurbishment of glass-lined reactors and pressure vessels that play a critical role in the chemical, pharmaceutical, agricultural, and other process industries.
We are looking for candidates with some of the following skills. Training will be provided so it is more important that the candidate has the enthusiasm and curiosity to learn.
· Knowledge and experience of one or more Pressure Vessel codes and regulations e.g. ASME VIII Div 1, PD 5500, AD 2000, PED, PE(S)R
· Knowledge and experience in the design and manufacture of pressure vessels or other pressure equipment e.g. piping, heat exchanges, etc
· Knowledge and experience of rotating equipment, motors, gearboxes, mechanical seals, etc
· Knowledge and experience of codes and regulations related to the purchase of electrical equipment e.g. ATEX
· Experience in the use of engineering calculation/analysis software e.g. Finglow, PV Elite, Mathcad, Autocad
· Experience in the use of ERP systems e.g. Infor M3
· Competent in the use of Microsoft Office
The candidate will undergo extensive technical training by our in-house experts and, in time, will take on the following responsibilities.
· Working with customer specifications, company standards and industry codes to design glass-lined pressure vessels, including the preparation of pressure vessel calculations
· Specification of motors, gearboxes, mechanical seals and other related equipment for glass-lined chemical reactor vessels
· Liaising with customers, sales and manufacturing to develop technical solutions and resolve issues
· Working with Draughts persons to develop engineering drawings, and the checking/approving of these drawings
We are looking for a candidate with a degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng/MEng). However, we will consider HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering with relevant industry experience.
The company offers a competitive salary dependent on experience and the option for employees to work their hours over 4 days. Annual leave is 25 days plus 8 bank holidays (pro rata for those working a 4 day week).
