Newport Norse represents the highly successful joint venture between Norse Group and Newport City Council, providing contract services across property and facilities management.
The role
We are currently looking to recruit an Mechanical Apprentice to join our team in Newport, this apprenticeship will require you to work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:15 - 4:15, for 4 years.
As the Mechanical Apprentice you will work within our maintenance team, you will assist and work under the guidance of qualified trades employees in the carrying out of electrical repairs and installation work in accordance with Newport Norse’s specifications and industry Codes of Practice.
- Shadowing and working alongside other qualified Plumbing & Heating Engineers on reactive repairs and maintenance projects across commercial and residential properties.
- Helping ensure all work is completed to an accepted industry standard.
- participate in an Apprenticeship Scheme, attending an appropriate college course relevant to the trade, as required, and receiving ‘on the job’ training.
- You will help ensure that all activities conform to the relevant Risk Assessment, Safe System of Work and/or Health and Safety Legislation.
Our successful candidate;
- GCSE’s, Grade C or above (New Scoring 5 or above) in English & Maths
- Experience within a similar role (Plumbing and Heating)
- Hold current CSCS card or willing to immediately attain
- Excellent commutation skills
- Ability to deliver excellent customer service
