Overview
The Process Engineer is responsible for driving and supporting the productivity, quality, and cost improvement goals established for all manufacturing operations at the site. The Process Engineer must serve as the catalyst to stimulate manufacturing-related innovations designed to continually improve our competitive position as a low cost/high end supplier.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as a champion of new products entering the facility in terms of identifying equipment, tooling, processing required to produce the product, cost estimating, quotes of new product components, and release
- Procure and provide support for the procurement of major and minor pieces of capital equipment
- Develop standards for new operations and/or equipment
- Perform time studies of new and existing processes
- Coordinate PCCR activity from process development through the estimation of standard costs, which includes vendor quotes for material and tooling and in-house requirements for tooling
- Manage bill of material creation and accuracy, interpretation of customer purchase orders, and implementation of new product launches and engineering design changes
- Resolve product issues related to form fit and function
- Provide technical support to customers, OEM account Managers, Aftermarket Account Managers, and Information Services groups
- Coordinate and support with other division functions (i.e. production, quality, facilities, health and safety, environmental, MIS) and outside contractors
- Ensure compliance with all Environmental, Health, and Safety Programs
Job Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors Level Degree in Engineering or related field
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Office
- Cullinet, AutoCAD, and CAD experience a plus
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, drawings, and/or other diagrams
- Ability to effectively present information
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
This position is eligible for Cummins-Meritor’s Incentive Compensation Plan, which offers payouts based on company performance.
