Mechanical Supervisor
The Role
Reporting to the Tissue Machine Asset Leader, the Mechanical Technician is a day-based role that safely drives asset performance and supports the shift teams on a daily basis. This role is 85-90% desk based writing technical risk assessments, method statements, completing permits, ordering spare parts and ensuring work scheduled is completed.
The successful applicant will be part of an ‘Asset Team’ to ensure all work carried out conforms to site standards, therefore delivering key KPI’s and the mill reliability strategy. The holder of this role will be required to implement the World Class Best Maintenance practices in a way that meets all Kimberly Clark’s standards and processes.

You will join our brilliant, successful and fun team who are responsible for producing ANDREX®, one of the UK’s most recognisable and celebrated brands since 1942.
Key Accountabilities
Safety is imperative at all of our sites so you will comply with all of Kimberly Clark Safety Systems and Processes whilst assisting in delivering line safety performance.
You will be able to identify and record unsafe conditions using our hazard identification system, ETQ
You will work to approved Standard Operating Procedures as dictated by role profile in the site training system, use site training system to agreed frequency and monitor updates to ensure aligned with safest working practices
Quality:
Comply to all Kimberly-Clark Quality Systems & Processes
Take decisive action when in “red condition” versus standard
Conduct all necessary Process health checks and essential care rounds to ensure product quality is met
Delivery:
Support the delivery of all tissue machine performance targets
Prepare and Lead Planned Maintenance activities including all scheduled Planned Maintenance shuts
Assist with breakdowns and repairs on the asset
Complete and continuously improve preventative maintenance activity
Act on advice from condition monitoring reports
Gather data on asset failures and use to problem solve to root cause.
Contribute to failure analysis and implement countermeasures
Conduct Process Confirmation to ensure maintenance systems are adhered to
Where required, provide support across assets/departments
Management of CMMS backlog to agreed targets
Communication:
Proactively communicate clearly and concisely
Provide detail and fact in communication
Communicate conclusions and potential solutions to concerns identified
Communicates closely with immediate team and Asset Leader to share condition of areas of responsibility
Maintain customer/supplier relationships by adopting best practice communication standards
Communicate issues and solicit critical feedback from the Mechanical engineer or engineering leader
You will have an apprenticeship with ideally and HNC in Mechanical Engineering discipline or equivalent with good working experience in an FMCG process/tissue/heavy engineering environment. You will be a logical problem solver with good attention to detail and computer literate. Ideally, you will have supervisory skills within workshops and be highly organised.
You will be able to work flexible hours where needed outside of normal day hours to cover business need, cover shortfalls within the shift operations team and to support on a 24 hour call in rota.
