What you will do:
Johnson Controls is developing the next generation of smart and connected products with a full range of systems and digital solutions for Industrial Refrigeration applications.
We would like you to manage a team of engineers and designers in the selection of custom equipment for quotations and the execution of customer orders for our Industrial Refrigeration Process Systems business! In this role, you will have an influence on the conceptual development, analysis, detailed design, and overall performance of sophisticated refrigeration products and systems. As a recognized technical domain authority, this role will also provide support to other specialists, designers, the sales team, factory production, laboratory testing, service group, aftermarket support, and marketing teams located locally and globally.
How you will do it:
- Work under general direction and resolve technical objectives of assignments.
- Provide mentorship and support to direct reports and other department employees.
- Work with other Managers to develop yearly goals, update standards and improve processes.
- Implement continuous improvements and supervise progress with key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve efficiency.
- Ensure specifications are achieved in a cost efficient manner.
- Investigate and analyze product design requirements and recommend optimum solutions.
- Be proficient in mechanical design and be able to conceptualize and implement design ideas into the product.
- Use mechanical engineering theory and methodologies such as heat transfer, fluid dynamics, failure analysis and refrigeration to develop solutions to customer requirements.
- Develop mathematical calculations and formulas using multiple variables, and analyze results.
- Establish any needed test criteria, participate in laboratory or shop testing, and analyzes test data to identify performance characteristics.
- Work closely with the design and drafting team members to generate product layout concepts and system configurations.
- Responsible for the accurate completion of projects.
- Continuously increase personal expertise on all aspects of product design, theory, construction, operation, and applications.
- Learns and applies regulatory codes.
What we look for:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET accredited)
- Minimum 10 years of applicable experience in engineering.
- Proficient in Microsoft suite Applications (Work, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) as well as knowledge and experience with AutoCAD and 3D parametric models.
Preferred
- Master degree or PE license
- Good communicator with leadership skills, management experience
- Knowledge in SAP is helpful but not required.
