Key Responsibilities include:
- Assist the Engineering Manager / Responsible Engineer in managing cross discipline interfaces.
- Ensuring adequate interfacing between other technical discipline.
- Ensure the design meets the operational / design requirements, and any Safety Functional Requirements.
- Ensure a H&S risk assessment is carried out as required under the CDM regulations.
- Prepare and control Development Specifications and associated documents.
- Check, verify and approve engineering documents in line with the technical and quality plan.
- Specify all installation, inspection, test and commissioning requirements for all relevant equipment specified in the design.
- Produce substantiation documentation to demonstrate all operational and functional safety requirements have been met by the design.
- Carry out site surveys of mechanical plant and equipment and document the results.
- Provide input to design documents, detailed equipment specifications / proposals and production of technical specifications to define quality levels.
- Quality control of design and documentation.
- Hazard and operability studies (HAZOP).
- Ensure all technical documents and data are prepared and structured in accordance with relevant procedures.
- Design change management.
HNC, HND or Degree in a relevant engineering discipline or a Professionally Registered Mechanical Engineer.
- Membership of an appropriate Institute.
- Experience working in a highly regulated industry.
- Previous experience as part of a dedicated or multi-discipline design team.
- Installation, test and commissioning experience would be advantageous.
- Committed to Continuous Professional Development.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Must be a sole UK national.
- Must be at able to achieve SC/DV clearance.
