We are currently recruiting for an intermediate to senior Mechanical Engineer, to join our growing team in Atlanta, GA. Reporting to the VP of Engineering HFC, the Mechanical Engineer will work with the ATX Product Development teams to develop and implement detailed designs for the HFC Outside Plant RF Amplifiers and Nodes as ATX expands it product portfolio in the HFC space.

RESPONSIBLITIES:
The following duties outline, but do not limit, the regular position requirements. These may be revised from time to time as business conditions dictate, at the discretion of the Manager.
- Detailed mechanical engineering design and analysis as required working with the HFC product development team.
- Research, develop and evaluate design concepts including materials and specifications for use in the product design and development.
- Design of die-cast and machined metal and plastic parts for outdoor temperature hardened environments.
- Work in close cooperation with the RF engineering design team and product management team on cost effective, manufacturable solutions for the amplifier and node product platforms.
- Work with outside suppliers to identify capable sources of components able to meet the custom and off the shelf design requirements of the product requirements.
- Perform or facilitate testing of the product / system as required to validate the designs and generate data sets for use in internal reviews and customer reviews.
- Follow our ATX development process and documentation requirements during the new product development programs as required
- Provide schedule estimate inputs as needed for project planning and participate in ongoing program update activities providing as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The following criteria are the minimum qualifications required for this position:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (Master’s degree a plus).
- Prefer at least 3+ years of mechanical design experience preferably in a Service Provider product development environment.
- Prefer strong background in Pro-E / Creo design and simulation tools.
- Thermal modeling background a plus.
- Strong preference for a background in mechanical product development for the Cable HFC Industry.
- Experience in mechanical design of die-cast parts, sheet metal parts and injection molded plastic parts.
- Familiar with the metals and plastics manufacturing industry practices and standard processes.
- Background in delivering quality designs to market in a timely fashion, with a high degree of quality and longevity.
- Good documentation and communication skills for both internal and external facing communications.
