Mechanical Design Engineer – South Yorkshire

3-6-month contract / Outside IR35

Gross Rate: 35.00p/h - £40.00p/h DOE

CAD – Autodesk Inventor / Vault / design / automation / SPM

I am currently recruiting on behalf of a key client based in Yorkshire, who are a global leading automation machinery manufacturer. They operate in the design, manufacture and installation of special purpose, automated machinery into fast paced FMCG, medical, pharmaceutical and green energy technology industries. Due to continued growth and projects, they are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team on an interim basis. Initially this contract/project is for 3-6 months and is likely to be extended further.

For this position, you will require to conduct the following daily duties:

• 3D design and modelling on Autodesk Inventor utilising Vault
• Design and model complex, high volume mechanical assemblies, in a highly technical engineering and automation equipment environment
• Designing high volume parts into Gas to meet design specification, taking into consideration moving parts and components
• Ensuring design project specifications are met, and ensuring designs correctly meet key project milestones
• Communicate effectively with internal key stakeholders on the design project including electrical and software teams
• Highlight design issues or snagging issues immediately to Lead Engineer

The successful person will need to have the following attributes:

• Knowledge of sheet metal, complex assemblies, and complex general arrangements etc
• Strong mechanical and complex machinery engineering background - able to come up with ideas and engineering solutions to problems
• 3DCAD – Autodesk Inventor & Vault highly desirable
• Excellent communications skills with both colleagues and clients
• A team player, professional and keen eye for detail
