Aerodyne Industries is currently seeking applicants for Mechanical Engineer/Planner to support the Mars Sample Return (MSR) Project at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt, MD.
The responsible engineer will assist GSFC PDLs and Civil Servants with searching for eligible vendors for a variety of electro-mechanical devices, parts, and support equipment that aids in the development of the MSR – Capture Contain, and Return System (CCRS) mechanisms, ground support equipment, testbed materials, which may include off the shelf and GSFC generated drawings for parts as requested by the CCRS PDLs and Civil servants. They will also be responsible for generating and reporting on status of purchase requisitions from order through delivery. The responsible engineer may also assist in delivery and storage details as needed for CCRS’ development efforts.
Job Requirements:
- A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering
- Should be able to support deliveries on occasion (GSFC unassisted lifting requirement is 53 lbs.)
- Knowledge of CAD systems especially CREO/WINDCHILL is a plus
- GD&T knowledge and drawing checking a plus
- Previous experience with procurements in related fields will receive first consideration
- Previous experience with GSFC procurements will also receive first consideration
- On a part-time basis, expected to be in 3 days/week
