Adecco are very happy to be supporting an exceptionally well established market leader in their search for a Mechanical Design Engineer.
You will be joining a large and innovative team of Design Engineers, tasked with developing and creating innovative solutions for new product lines and driving new product designs from concept through to production.
This vacancy process is of a time sensitive nature, meaning that applicants from outside of the North East of England needing to relocate, will not be considered.
Candidates with a background in Mechanical Design from the Consumables Industry are being prioritised for this position.
Salary: £45,000 Annually

Key Responsibilities:
- Understand customer needs, translating those into innovative engineering solutions
- Work closely within multi-disciplined teams to ensure customer requirements are achieved and projects are delivered on time and to the required quality level
- Develop test plans for new and existing product to ensure the product meets customer needs
- Co-ordinate design reviews on new product designs
- Develop design concepts which comply with legislative requirements
- Undertake detailed analysis of components and products identifying cost reduction, product improvement and warranty reduction opportunities within the business
- Involvement in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
- Minimum of 5 years industry experience
- Experience in the use of a 3D CAD package & PDM software
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials as they relate to design and manufacturing
- Experience of handling multiple tasks/projects
- Experience within consumer product design
- Industrial experience & knowledge of lightweight, thermoformed components and materials
- Proven experience with processes relating to DfMA (Design for Manufacture Assembly)
- Prior experience using Autodesk Inventor highly desirable
- Experience using Vault PDM Software
- Development and execution of test plans
Qualifications
- Educated to Degree level (or equivalent knowledge/experience) in Mechanical Engineering or similar
