An exciting multiple Opportunities within Design Engineering at Submarines Raynesway, Derby.
Our Submarines business are currently working on a large campaign in which we are looking for circa 100 engineers across multiple engineering disciplines. As part of this we are looking for a number of people with a background in Mechanical Design Engineering to join us in (but not limited to)
- Mechanical Design
- Component Design
- Stress Engineering
- Thermo-fluid Engineering
- Pressure Vessel Engineering

What you will be doing:
You will be responsible for the creation of component/assembly/systems designs and associated through life justification that meet their requirements and product attributes, i.e. life, cost availability and safety margins. Additionally you will:
- shall create solutions and justifications that are robust against variation, taking account the full life cycle (concept to disposal).
- have an understanding of and ability to integrate cross-discipline engineering concepts which include manufacturing engineering, service engineering, hydrodynamics, thermodynamics,
Who we are looking for:

- Ideally, you will have experience in one of the above disciplines, but this does not need to be limited to Submarines.
- It is preferable that you are Degree Qualified or Apprentice Trained in a relevant engineering discipline, however this is not essential as experience is equally beneficial.
- External Skills/Experience can be from industries such as Civil Nuclear, Marine, Petro-Chemical and Oil & Gas.

To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines Business an individual has to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if the individual does not currently already have this in place.
Due to the nature of work the Business conducts and the protection of certain assets a person has to be a UK national or in MoD approved cases a Dual National from a non ITAR country.
