The Club House is our Members & Golfers’ bolthole. A timber framed barn with a relaxed & informal atmosphere and a stunning outlook, the Club House feels more like a home away from home than a typical Club House. An informal space to relax over great wines & simple but exceptional food as golfers come off the Course.

The role:

As part of our Greenkeeping Department at Beaverbrook you will be joining as our Mechanic (Turf Equipment). Working closely with our Course Manager you will oversee the maintenance of golf course equipment. This program includes preventative maintenance and repair of equipment, record keeping of servicing, repairs, maintenance and labour. Placing orders for parts, supplies, fuel management and tools required. The Equipment Manager will report any problems with the equipment to the Course Manager, placing safety as a top priority across the Estate.

Who you are:

  • Posses a mechanical certification.
  • Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the use of equipment and workshop environment.
  • Strong manual handling skills with the ability work in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Experienced in reel grinding, bed knife and rotary blade sharpening is essential, along with the ability to identify and repair mechanical defects in maintenance and construction equipment.
  • Hold a valid UK driving licence.

What you'll be doing:

  • Carrying out spot checks on equipment to ensure optimum performance on the course.
  • Ensuring that all equipment is fit for purpose prior to use, as well as making emergency repairs when required
  • Running an equipment budget and keeping accurate service and inspection records.
  • Keeping the workshop clean and tidy.
  • Recommending equipment purchases and leases.

Hours of work: 5 days out of 7, with the flexibility to work select tournament weekends.
