To work as a member of the maternity services under the supervision of registered midwives and nurses, delivering excellence in Caring, Housekeeping and Clerical duties to all women and their families who access the service.

Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of service users, always working in a manner that promotes dignity, equality and diversity, through the adoption of persons centred care principles.

The Maternity Care Assistant role is a diverse role incorporating elements of personal care, clerical and housekeeping duties. Working collaboratively with the nurses and midwives, multi professional teams, service users and their families to provide excellent care.

The Maternity Care Assistant will be accountable to the midwife or nurse they are working with, whilst maintaining dignity of women/service users and their families, respecting their individual needs and wishes. Whilst always maintaining a professional and presentable image.
