Job description
Are you a highly motivated Development Scientist/Engineer? FiberVisions is interested in adding to our Research & Development Team in Covington, GA. The new team member will have ample opportunities to leverage their technical expertise by leading projects in fiber product development and commercialization. The role is critical in delivering new fiber products that drive the growth of business.
Responsibilities include:
· Explore and research concepts as well as execute fiber product development projects driven by market needs and organization’s strategic goals.
· Own the full new product development cycle – from ideation, product design, bench study, pilot trial to full scale-up on commercial assets through working with the technical team and business team in a global environment.
· Design and execute well-planned experiments and analyze all relevant data to understand the science behind developmental products for new technology development.
· Work effectively with cross-functional teams – EH&S, Engineering, Marketing, Procurement, Production, Product Steward, Sales.
· Represent the company in technology matters with customers, suppliers, and external organizations.
· Ensure safety work environment and 100% compliance
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s or advanced degree in chemical engineering, polymer science & engineering, chemistry, material science, textile engineering, or similar areas from an accredited college or university.
· 3+ years’ of industry experience or equivalent in a research and development capacity or PhD in a relevant area.
· Strong fundamental knowledge and background in polymers, textiles, extrusion, fiber, or nonwovens.
· A proven track record for innovation and product development.
· Strong data analysis skills and data-driven decision-making mindset.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills and able to interact with all levels both in and outside of the organization.
· Self-motivated, strong drive to pursue opportunities, and enjoy a fast-paced environment with a positive “can-do” attitude.
