The Landing Gear Market specializes in the design, qualification, manufacture and repair and overhaul of landing gears and flight critical components to a customer base that extends from the OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to the Operators in both the commercial and military markets.
Summary of position:
The Materials Handler is an integral part of both the Logistics Team, whose primary purpose is to ensure effective and efficient flow of goods and sub-contract services from suppliers to the Héroux Devtek (HD) point of need, utilising best practice throughout the pre-manufacture supply chain. In order to execute the role it is recognised the Materials Handler will be both flexible, adaptable and work as part of the greater HD team.
Main responsibilities:
- Ensure all Health and Safety rules and regulations are followed, in line with H&SE APPH Management. This includes but is not limited to appropriate housekeeping of the Goods In, Linvars, Other Inventory areas and Despatch.
- Work in accordance with appropriate sections of the Quality Manual and Departmental Processes and Procedures, standard operations and work instructions.
- Supporting audits (internal and external) as required.
- Contribute towards fostering a culture of continuous improvements and flexible/adaptable teamwork.
- Maintenance of ERP accuracy including stock records and batch sizes etc.
- Flexible attitude to working with the Logistics Department, roles include: Receiving, Put-Away, Pick, Pack and Ship.
- Carry Out Receiving and Put-Away duties from Dock to Stock for both external and internal supply.
- Respond to customer issues related to Receiving /Inventory areas.
- Support Team Leader in response to both internal and external supplier issues.
- Carry out daily picking activities to support operations and customer requirements both internal & external.
- Action any daily non-compliant issues such as but not limited to MRB/Quarantine/Scrap.
- Support and contribute to improving the Picking process and related processes.
- Support and contribute to any parts kitting projects.
- Support and contribute to improving the part labelling & protective packaging of stock.
- Packing of Customer Shipments both Internal and External supply
- Consolidate shipments as per customer requirements.
- Create shipment bookings via Transport company websites and email address as per Customer requirements.
- Experienced in a Supply Chain function ideally Purchasing, Materials Management, Warehousing or Logistics.
- Experienced on an ERP system’s Supply Chain (logistics) functionality.
- Experienced in working and contributing to Continuous Improvement Projects/Culture.
- MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook and other software as appropriate.
