The MP&L Powertrain Material Flow Engineering team is seeking qualified candidates with the drive to support, plan, execute and launch new model programs across legacy ICE and new electrified propulsion manufacturing facilities. We drive the implementation of efficient layouts, best-in-class material delivery technologies and lean manufacturing while working cooperatively across multiple functional groups to meet financial and timing targets in today's highly competitive environment.
What you'll do..
- Support Material Flow planning in concert with New Model Programs. In this role you will:
- Ensure material flow and layouts are optimized to support lean manufacturing strategy and to manage parts and complexity, in-house and supporting external warehouses
- Ensure all material handling equipment is delivered on time to support program timing, including forecasting costs, developing equipment specifications and procuring the equipment
- Manage new model planning data bases such as Plan for Every Part (PFEP) including work with Packaging Eng for packaging approval process, NA Material Logistics and plants
- Develop a material flow plan and associated investment to deliver program
- Work with cross functional team to implement material flow layouts and plan for every part, including receiving, storage, delivery to line, off-line complexity management etc.
- Manage the design, development and procurement of all Material Handling equipment required for storage/delivery/lineside, including PMHVs, AGVs, storage racks, flow racks sequence rack, delivery dollies, lineside ergo equipment etc.
- Provide In-Plant launch support to implement material flow plan for new model programs
- Create and maintain open issues lists, Master Schedules, lead multi-functional teams, issue resolution, financial tracking and management of fund spending and equipment procurement.
- Travel up to 50% (when required) in support of program launches
- Work remotely and travel to the home office as needed
You'll have...
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar technical degree
- Practical understanding of Ford manufacturing and assembly processes
- Experience with successful automation implementations including AGV/AMR and warehouse automation
- Knowledge of CMMS, AutoCAD Plant Layout, PFEP Pro, MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), AVBOM, WERS, PFR, AURORA, CPARS (are these known externally) Team Center etc., preferred
- Validated verbal and written communication presentation and meeting skills
- Demonstrated project management skills
