Matchday Coordinator

Full Time (40 hours)

Sunderland AFC is looking to appoint a Matchday Coordinator who will be responsible for creating and maintaining a positive customer experience for all supports at SAFC first-team home games. The Matchday Coordinator will work closely alongside Processing and Fulfilment to ensure ownership of processes are successfully passed from Commercial to Delivery teams.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Planning and implementation of long-term strategies to improve the home matchday experience for supporters across multiple areas, including Hospitality, fanzones, Public Catering areas, and entertainment.
  • Visiting competitor Stadiums where possible and research of industry practices and events that SAFC could implement.
  • Working alongside Processing and Fulfilment to ensure information is effectively passed to the required stakeholders.
  • Chair meetings at kick-off of each match
  • Provide excellent customer service in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Proof all print and design for matchday materials.
  • Ensure all matchday processes and procedures are followed, updating documentation with any changes.
  • Preparation of all documentation for a match day operation and coordination of itineraries for guests, former players, compares, photographers, SAFC personnel and special guests
  • Ownership of sponsorship gift lists, signed balls or strips, radio lists, programme orders, room lists, room plans and EFL requirements.
  • Ownership of guests table plans once supplied from the delivery team.
  • Coordination and supervision of matchday Hosts, including scheduling, regular communication with the host team, pre-match briefing, and collation of post-match feedback.
  • Collation of any match day feedback and complaints, and review with Head of Events.
  • Collection of the Man of the Match player from the changing room and supervise their journey across Suites for their presentations.
  • Preparation and ordering of all materials required for the season.
  • Collate all information required for seat plaques, door names, advertising panels across the hospitality areas and liaise with printer to have these installed for the start of each season.
  • Maintain & update the gift spreadsheet, returning gifts back to stock post-match.
  • Ownership of matchday mascot coordination alongside Tours coordinator.
  • There is a requirement to work all home matches.
  • Use of our ticketing software, Ticketmaster to assist in the management of Hospitality packages.
  • Process and fulfil any concert/major event requirements as required by the Major Events and Project Lead.

The position is full time (40 hours per week), the availability to work flexible is essential to suit business needs. Additionally, you are required to work all home fixtures and special events unless previously agreed with your manager.
