We are now looking for a motivated Credit Controller, to help support the continued growth of Gough and Kelly, by working closely with the Finance Manager to improve credit control processes of the business and help support the cashflow of the business by ensuring timely payment of invoices
There are 3 companies in the group and you will be responsible for the timely collection of outstanding invoices across the 3 businesses. The Finance team is a team of 6 and this role will report into the Finance Manager
Responsibilities to include:
Responsibilities –
- Set up customer accounts: checking credit ratings and applying appropriate terms and conditions –
- Prepare and send sales invoices for all 3 companies
- Post payments to accounts and allocate as required
- Undertake account reconciliations
- Chase overdue invoices by telephone, email & letter within agreed timescales
- Deal with all Credit Note requests timely, providing a reason for all credits
- Handle disputed bills and negotiate to bring payment within the agreed terms
- Identify changes in payment patterns and propose action to avert indebtedness Cash posting and allocation
- Debt Collection
- Resolution of queries
- Invoice Discounting Management
Competent with Excel, ideally Sage experience or similar accounts package
Proactive and focused on system and reporting improvements
The Ideal Candidate
Skills/attributes required:
- Experienced Credit Controller
- Used to working within an SME environment and happy working in a Stand-Alone Credit control Environment
- Experience with implementing new ways to improve the credit control function
- A good telephone manner to speak with the suppliers
This vacancy is a full-time, permanent position, which consists of 37.5 hours per week, and offers the following company benefits:
