Job description
An interesting and exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced Administrators to support the Safeguarding Specialist Nurses within the Nottinghamshire Safeguarding Hub (MASH). This post also will support some functions in the wider Safeguarding team when required including the Looked after children functions.
The MASH is a first point of contact for concerns around Safeguarding concerns for Adults and Children/ Young People and it brings together a team of multidisciplinary professionals from partner agencies to handle all safeguarding concerns where someone is concerned about the safety or wellbeing of an adult, child or young person.
The MASH health team also link with the CCG Safeguarding Team and are supported in the wider development of the Safeguarding and health agenda by these relationships. As noted above support from an administration perspective is required by the wider team and this is made in conjunction with the line manager.
Main duties of the job
You will be working as part of a dynamic and integrated team and will primarily be registering, searching for and collating details/information for the Nurses from the systems available to the team. The team have links with the community acute and primary care and are looking for some one who can add to the further development of the team.
The post involves handling patient information about safeguarding children and you will manage sensitive and at times distressing information. You will be supported within the team but must also demonstrate emotional resilience.
The successful candidate will need:
- Excellent communication skills
- A clear understanding of procedures in relation to data protection/confidentiality
- Highly developed organisational/time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy for all administrative tasks
- Good team working skills, with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the team
There are two posts offered one 37.5 hours and one 13.5 hours.
The MASH team are part of the wider MASH multi-agency team and is a critical function to support referrals made when children or adults are at risk of abuse or require support. This is an operational function but the team are supported and are part of the Safeguarding team in the ICB.
