The Disney+ Marketing Strategy Manager will be responsible for the development of the UK marketing strategy for Disney+. They will create a holistic strategy for Disney+ in the UK, working closely with the Senior Marketing Manager and Marketing Director to shape the future direction for our marketing in the UK.
This role will work closely with the Insights & Analytics team to put the consumer first and ensure insight guides Disney+’s strategic decisions in the UK. They will take the lead on Disney+’s marketing strategy in the UK, focussing on forward planning, and identifying trends & headroom to further build the UK business. They will support the Brand and Content Marketing teams to ensure every Disney+ campaign has a clear and connected strategy. They will connect the strategic thinking they do in the UK to the Acquisition and Retention team’s strategy, advocating for 360 view of Disney+’s marketing approach. They will also work closely with our UK media agency to ensure we’re identifying and exploiting all opportunities to further our growth in this key market. The focus, and measurement of success, is to build brand awareness, understanding and consideration of Disney+, and awareness and excitement of high priority content drops, to help drive, in partnership with the performance & retention teams, sign ups, subscribers and loyalty.
They will support the team in all strategic projects, ensuring recommendations are connected to brand and business results. They will be a key part of all quarterly and annual planning processes.
They will be an excellent communicator, experienced at presenting to stakeholders at all levels and creating presentations for senior stakeholders.
The individual will report directly into the UK Marketing Director and be a key advisor to the Content Marketing Director, Brand Marketing Director, and Brand & Content teams.
The Opportunity and Responsibilities
Lead the continual development of the marketing strategy for Disney+ in the UK, collecting and managing inputs from across the business.
Identify trends and headroom opportunities, and work with relevant internal teams to turn these into actionable plans for the UK marketing team to execute.
Using insights and data, work with the senior marketing manager to plan out the calendar of marketing campaigns with recommendations on content selection which drive the UK business.
Support Disney+ EMEA’s quarterly and annual planning with insight-driven recommendations within wider Disney+ marketing strategy.
Be an expert on attitudes and behaviours of key UK audiences and where and how to connect with them.
Input into the annual EMEA Media and communications playbook by sharing relevant strategic pillars, consumer insights and collaborating with campaign managers, research and analytics teams
Understand the direct competitive environment (TV, SVOD, Theatrical, Subscription Services), and apply analysis and insights to gain competitive advantage
The Experience we require from you
Marketing strategy experience at a manager level or equivalent
Experience marketing content within the Entertainment industry (preferably SVOD)
Experience developing C-suite presentations and strategic recommendations
Experience motivating and inspiring internal teams and agencies
UK experience including understanding cultural nuances
Experience collaborating across teams, delivering through others, with senior, junior and peer stakeholders
Ability to process data and build a strategic recommendation using results
Excellent stakeholder management skills
Ability to communicate complex concepts in simple, impactful ways
