Job Summary
The Marketing Services Manager for Marriott International will part of a devoted team of UK Shared Services Marketing specialists responsible for successfully activating dynamic Marketing programming for participating hotels in Central and Greater London.
This role is responsible for specialized creative content that brings to life hotel, outlet and local destination, and drives successes within the Hotel Marketing Plan, whilst supporting Hotel and Outlet Positionings amongst their competitor sets.
The role works directly with participating hotels across overall Marketing strategy, branding and execution. The Marketing Services Manager is also responsible for working with the wider UK Marketing Team to ensure that the seasonal creative content of supported London hotels is considered during national segment marketing activity planning.
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience
- BA Degree in marketing related function or equivalent higher education experience
- 3+ years progressive work experience in a “hands on” content marketing role
- Experience in working within a team and with multi-discipline workflows
Skills and Knowledge
Professional attributes, skills & experience:
- Proven experience in working with content management systems and social media channels.
- Mobile and photography proficiency preferred.
- Design software experience preferred, especially for social media and digital assets.
- Fluent command of the English language – especially written (copywriting).
- Have strong project management skills with the ability to connect with many different stakeholders both internally and externally.
- A natural and proven ability with digital and social media strategy.

Core Work Activities
- To curate compelling content (copy, assets, rich media) that supports Hotel Brand and Positioning, Outlet and Local Area
- Responsible for creative content that supports the strategic Marketing performance of the hotels and Area
- Ensures that hotels successfully pull through on the tactics that support comprehensive hotel marketing planning and activation, on time and on strategy.
- Collaborates with property teams to ensure high quality and maintain high associate engagement.
- Fulfill a marketing advisory role within participating hotels: Analyze the hotels’ competitive strengths / USPs, develop hotel / outlet positioning and communicate core consumer messaging that clearly differentiates the hotel from its competitors.
- Work with Hotel GM and Leadership Team (Sales, Revenue, F&B, Operations) to support with the development and execution of the hotel’s day-to-day Marketing activities, including brand and segment activations, tactical promotions, local partnerships, content creation and organic/paid social media programming.
- Supports the creation and ongoing management of the annual Hotel Marketing Plan, and ensure that all briefs, budget setting, creative and execution development, media planning and reporting is aligned with the wider Hotel Business Plan and current selling strategy.
- Responsible for identifying channels for targeting new customers and raising awareness of Hotel for transient leisure, meetings and events, stealing share from competitors and driving revenues.
- Work with the UK Segment Marketing team to evolve concepts and campaigns for meetings, events, F&B and Social Catering for London as a destination.
- Responsible for providing tracking and analysis of Marketing activity and analyzing the performance of key business segments to make recommendations on suitable marketing activity.
- Responsible for localizing Continent, Brand, Loyalty and Area-led marketing activity for Hotel pull through.
- Collaborate with hotel on successful management of Hotel and Outlet social media channels, as required, including devising and managing content calendars, executing campaigns and regularly auditing channels.
- Identify budget requirements and define KPIs for content strategies and rich media development.
- Collaborate with Digital Field Marketing for the successful maintenance and content optimization of the Hotel Website and any additional supporting digital platforms.
- Support the content process of all Hotel collateral design and production.
- Ensure that hotels are successfully included in centralized email marketing strategy, including outlets and segments, with a focus on growing audiences, engagement, producing revenue and developing data insights.
- Support the PR Centre of Excellence, (where applicable), to ensure that the creation and provision of content to local and international media remains strategic, impactful, and relevant.
- Provides support to properties undergoing renovation, including managing Marketing critical path and pre-, during and post-communications plans.
- Attend Sales Strategy Meetings as requested.
- Manages photo/video shoots. This includes writing briefs, providing Brand photographic guidelines, liaise with brand approved photographers, provide sample photography, guidance on use of photography playbook, managing the shoot on the day and fully compliant upload to Marriott International’s approved digital asset library.
- Attend Area Marketing Meetings to provide updates on current and planned marketing activity, provide feedback on hotel requirements.
- Support the Hotel Team with BrandVoice roll outs and questions, including usage and implementation.
