This post sits within the Business Engagement Directorate and more precisely, the Westminster Enterprise Network (WeNetwork) team which is the student enterprise team of the University. The purpose of WeNetwork is to provide opportunities to students and graduates to engage in enterprise activities to broaden their employability prospects and support the creation of innovative projects, start-ups, and freelance activities. WeNetwork collaborates with and is supported by a number of external partners in order to provide an enriching environment to learn from.
The Marketing Officer plays a pivotal role in driving student and recent graduates’ engagement with WeNetwork activities while effectively communicating the impact generated. Working closely with the Marketing & Events Manager, the Marketing Officer will be instrumental in implementing the Marketing, Communications, and PR plan, ensuring strict adherence to brand guidelines.
Core responsibilities encompass promoting and closely monitoring engagement across various WeNetwork activities, including newsletters, events, and transformative programmes such as the Incubator Programme, Big Idea Competition, Start-Up 101, Freelance Essentials, and Skills Lab. With a keen eye for compelling content, the Marketing Officer will craft and update engaging copy and digital assets, leveraging diverse communication channels. Additionally, the role involves conducting thorough evaluations of marketing strategies and actively seeking feedback to consistently enhance of the team’s initiatives.
The postholder will be based primarily at our central London offices, however travel and work across all sites including our Harrow campus is required. Currently the team is working in a hybrid capacity.
The successful candidate will have experience in marketing, communications, or related fields, including creating engaging content for various platform, managing social media channels, and utilising digital marketing tools to reach target audiences effectively. They will be able to demonstrate their excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including prioritising their workload effectively and having excellent attention to detail.
Experience working within employability, enterprise or student related activities is desirable.
