You will be fundamental to ensuring we deliver our intended outcomes and to interface daily with both internal stakeholders and our agencies and partners.


Based in Edinburgh, the marketing manager will be responsible for leading brand and marketing activities across EY Scotland. Working directly with EY Scotland Market Segment Leaders, Partners, Business Development colleagues and our existing Scotland based External & Internal communications team, you will use your market insights, business knowledge and creative thinking to deliver on key marketing programmes, that help us build deep client relationships and strengthen our brand in Scotland. You will have a good knowledge and understanding of the business landscape in Scotland and use your networks to strengthen EY’s reputation and spokespeople’s profiles in the country to help drive revenue growth. You will liaise with the wider Brand, Marketing and Communications team to identify where there are synergies to be leveraged and amplified from national programmes and activity at a regional level.


The role requires a highly motivated individual, with the ability to work within a team as well as on their own initiative. The successful candidate is likely to have experience working in a B2B and/or services industry marketing role covering all aspects of the marketing mix. You will need to be able to effectively communicate with multiple stakeholders across the business. You will have a track record in designing and delivering successful initiatives and campaigns, activity tailored to relevant markets.


Your key responsibilities


  • An integrated marketing plan for Scotland that leverages firm wide programmes where appropriate and capitalises on the intersection with key industries and government programmes.
  • Delivering commercial, creative and measurable initiatives and campaigns that contribute to building a positive reputation for EY in Scotland and building relationships with buyers and influencers.
  • Manage the production and execution of agreed deliverables within timelines and budget; measuring the campaign activities and using insights to enhance and refine activity
  • Working collaboratively with the Scotland based External and Internal communications teams to deliver on key programmes.
  • Advising leaders and colleagues on opportunities, content & questions relating to all BMC functions and programmes, e.g. specific flagship programmes such as Entrepreneur of the Year and ITEM Programme.
  • Proactively, working collaboratively and effectively with Business Development to deliver on EY and BMC strategic priorities.
  • Building your internal and external networks.
  • Staying abreast of competitive activity and positioning, ongoing trends and best practices and providing insights to stakeholders.
  • Being part of a UK team which includes other Marketing managers across industries, geographies and service lines to harness best practice in the pursuit of enhancing the client experience, strengthening client relationships and facilitating sales.
  • Work with EY.COM Editorial Manager (in line with Editorial Board Governance) to ensure content for the EY Scotland business is current, relevant and compelling with a clear buyer journey
  • Operational Excellence: Budget and financial management. Ensure compliance with all EY planning, quality and risk management processes


Skills and attributes for success


  • Solid marketing experience including plan development, budget management and stakeholder management
  • Experience of working in large/matrix organisations, balancing multiple stakeholder requirements.
  • Time and project management skills – highly organised with a sound attention to detail and an ability to deliver to deadlines.
  • A track record of strategic campaign management, producing quality, consistent messages, through all channels.
  • A solid understanding of campaign principles, coupled with a strong commercial drive and the ability to deliver high-value activities that deliver return on investment, ensuring alignment with brand and risk management.
  • Experience in event management and excellent content creation skills.
  • An enthusiastic, can-do approach and a strong team player.
  • The ability to juggle conflicting demands on time and prioritise effectively.
  • A desire to embrace and drive change whilst identifying and supporting process improvements and demonstrating best practice.


To qualify for the role, you must have


  • 5 years’ experience in marketing programme management in a corporate environment.


Ideally, you’ll also have


  • Experience of briefing and working with creative agencies.
