What are we looking for?

Candidates should be 18 years or over before the start date and have the right to live and work in England

For the apprenticeship program we prioritize applicants eligible to government funding for their apprenticeship and for this you need to:
  • Have lived in the UK or in the European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 years
  • Be a resident of the UK you for the entire duration of the program
  • Not be registered to study on a UK government funded course ending June 2023 or later
  • Have 5 x GCSE’s at grade 4-9 (A-C) or above (or equivalent) including Maths and English

Please note, you will be required to evidence your qualifications. If you have gained qualifications outside of the UK you will be required to evidence that they are equivalent.

The role is very audience focused which requires creativity, communication and project management skills. You will learn to plan and execute tactical and targeted marketing activities. This role involves researching, developing, promoting and distributing, products or services through effective channels to engage with a range of target audiences. You will possess strong communication skills as well as a keen eye for detail and you will have good organization and planning skills. Within this role you will learn developing and creating content that can be used across a variety of media including digital, social media, broadcast or in print. An enthusiasm for technology and creating great online experiences is a must. You will also need to have good communication skills as well as the ability to collaborate effectively in a group of diverse roles. You should also have the ability to come up with ideas from thinking out of the box. You’ll learn to schedule onsite campaigns and organize virtual events that drive traffic to our platform, while increasing repeat engagement. You will schedule and send email promotions to both new and experienced community members. As a Marketing executive at Amazon, you’ll gain a vast range of useful experiences and skills. You will work towards the Level 4 Marketing executive apprenticeship standard You will build your skills over a 24-month period, starting in July, which will help you develop personally and professionally. Your apprenticeship will be made up of; • Classroom/virtual based training to cover knowledge • On-the-job training at your Amazon base location • Online learning • Mentoring from our experienced team members Alongside extensive development of your technical skills, you will also grow your abilities in crucial complementary areas like organization, prioritization, data and problem-solving techniques, teamwork, communication, presentation skills and document writing. You will work alongside the team, supporting with day to day tasks learning how Amazon works and delivers for its customers. As your knowledge and skills increase over the duration of the scheme you will have opportunities to be part of and lead projects, making a difference for customers. The on the job experience will help you build a portfolio of evidence towards your apprenticeship. You will be given dedicated time to focus on your studies to help you stay on track and work towards successfully completing your qualification(s). Once you have successfully completed your Marketing Executive Apprenticeship you will be able to apply for relevant roles across the business. You will attend a number of workshops across the duration of the apprenticeship, workshops will be a mix of face to face and online delivery by a training provider. You will also attend internal workshops/ trainings to support you in developing Amazon related skills and knowledge. Depending on the scheme and location of the training provider you may be required to travel and stay overnight. (costs will be supported by Amazon) Key job responsibilities You will be combining working in your assigned team as a Marketing Executive Apprentice whilst continuing your studies to achieve your qualification. As a working student your focus is to complete your studies in your 20% off the job time by learning and developing your skills, knowledge and behaviours to work towards successful graduation. You will be set objectives and goals by your training provider and manager to support your studies. About the team Amazon is the perfect place to start your career in Marketing. Apprentices on this program can work across a number of tech and no tech teams in Amazon working with program managers where they help deliver big or small projects successfully. You’ll work alongside our marketing teams who are progressive, hands-on and customer obsessed. You will learn to be responsible for taking care of, and dealing with, marketing activities across a range of platforms. As you develop your skills, knowledge and behaviors you will become an integral part of the team, delivering the highest quality of service to our customers both internal and external.

You’ll complete 3 video questions to tell us more about you, your motivations and any transferrable skills you have. If you’re applying for a technology based apprenticeship you may also be asked to complete a short technical/coding test. As a last step, we will invite successful candidates to an assessment center where you’ll get the chance to meet the recruitment team and the hiring teams that align to the programme you have applied for. As part of the assessment centre, you may be expected to take part in a group exercise, a presentation, 1 to 1 interviews and other tasks relating to your chosen programme.
