Marketing Excellence Partner

In this role you will work across all UK Commercial teams with the purpose of building and leading the delivery of a high-quality marketing capability plan, aligned with ambitious business goals. You will use internal and external resources to plan, deliver and embed capability interventions across all marketing roles

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Shape and deliver measurable capability interventions, aligned to the three key pillars for Marketin Excellence in the UK Commercial business: Attract, Retain and Develop
  • Lead Capability assessment rollout for the UK, with check in cycles with the marketing community to ensure the assessment tool is embedded as a way of working
  • Gain endorsement from the UK Leadership Team on a clear plan of action to build on current strengths, maximise opportunities and address gaps in marketing calibre
  • Take overall accountability for embedding Marketing Excellence across UK Commercial, including how to develop effective, compelling, and comprehensive strategic and operational plans, user journeys and tactics
  • Create and develop a UK Marketing Excellence community, providing the opportunity for group learning and sharing of best practice
  • Ensure all new joiners to a marketing role have a brilliantly managed onboarding experience with clear 30, 60, and 90-day plans, leveraging regional onboarding resources via Keep Growing campus where appropriate
  • Accountable for maintaining up to date knowledge of external trends and best practice in omnichannel marketing, looking to leading examples within and outside of the Pharma sector and embedding this within the UK business.
  • Be the UK Commercial liaison for European Marketing Capability Director to ensure the UK business is aligned with capability expectations and primed for new/annually repeated initiatives through ‘air traffic control’ of global and local interventions
  • Act as a Customer Experience coach to the UK Commercial business with a focus on the mindset and methodology to ensure the customer is at the centre of omnichannel user journeys and engagement plans. Attend brand scrum sessions to ensure agile is embedded as a way of working
  • Play a lead role in the ‘Power Up’ programme to embed new ways of working, partnering with newly created roles to maximise the performance opportunity and transform the HCP engagement experience
  • Represent the UK LOC & contribute at regional (MCC) Marketing Capability Champion forums
  • Adopting and embedding Agile ways of working/marketing techniques

Why You?

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Significant modern/omnichannel marketing experience, being able to bring practical external expertise to GSK
  • Chartered Institute of Marketing qualification or equivalent
  • Proven ability to set direction, inspire and lead others across the business
  • Proven ability to take multiple qualitative and quantitative inputs to define strategy and create/deliver solutions to drive improvement in performance
  • Ability to quickly build relationships with key stakeholders, including at UK Leadership Team (up to SVP level) and European/Global level
  • Experience of having led the development of all elements across the marketing lifecycle, including the development of ambitious user journeys that are integrated across the business
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles and experiential learning techniques
  • Experience of project and programme management, prioritising and managing multiple projects concurrently
  • Knowledge and experience of various tools and frameworks that help plan, prepare, and execute brilliant campaigns such as the POEM digital marketing model
  • Adaptable to changing needs/demands & comfortable in ambiguity & managing complexity
  • Both adopts and embeds an agile mindset & ways of working
  • Good working knowledge of the ABPI Code of Practice, or capability to rapidly upskill knowledge in this area
