Zest is a new digital health start-up focussing on preventative healthcare and helping people to live longer, healthier lives through lifestyle changes and sophisticated habit tracking. We are a software platform which aggregates users health data and helps people to optimize their health and wellness, particularly from a longevity perspective. (see more at www.zest.science)
We are poised to release the first version of our digital product which will be a smartphone app to help users track progress and implement lifestyle changes to maximise their healthy lifespan. We are looking for someone skilled with social media and marketing to help inform our marketing strategy and grow our social media following (particularly on instagram) ahead of our launch.
The job will entail:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with the overall marketing goals ahead of the first launch of our product in August 2023
- Create and curate high-quality, engaging content that reflects the Zest brand, including images, reels, stories, linkedin posts, twitter posts, and other forms of social media content.
- Analyse the success of social media campaigns and adjust the strategy accordingly to maximize results.
- Our primary focus is growing our instagram following, and we have a scientific content writer who supports on blog and newsletter writing who may be able to help with the scientific validity of your content in the beginning if this is outside your area of expertise.
- 20 hours/week remote working (to potentially increase to full time if there is a good fit)
The ideal candidate would have:
- Graduated from a communications/marketing/PR degree or similar
- An understanding of how to successfully grow a social media following and a proven track record of successful growth
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong project management and organizational skill
- Understanding of (or proven interest in) health and wellness, science, biohacking, biotechnology, tech and related disciplines
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholder
- Flexibility to work outside 9-5. We are a global team across the UK, the US and Australia, and may require you to take meetings outside 9-5 hours. This would not mean working more than your scheduled hours, but perhaps taking the odd meeting at 8am or 6 or 7pm. You would have advanced notice of this, and would not be expected to be constantly available at all hours.

- Opportunity to travel: We recently presented at a health conference in London, where we flew two staff members over from the US to join us on an all expenses paid trip. As future events come up, there may be the opportunity to travel with the team for the purposes of content creation.
- As with most start-ups, we are all in this together, which means you may find you wear many hats and take on varied tasks. Many people find this exciting and that it keeps things interesting and provides more opportunities for learning, but it's not for everyone. If you are interested in getting some more broad and varied experience, where perhaps you help the science team with a press release or an email campaign from time to time, then this is the place for you.
