King’s College is a co-educational boarding school that comprises King’s Prep for children from nursery to Year 8 and King’s College senior school from Year 9 to Sixth Form. The schools are just two-hours from London and situated on separate sites in the heart of the Somerset countryside.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the school in a role at a key stage of development, following the ongoing success of the Admissions & Marketing department.
Directly reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Co-Ordinator will work all year round and co-ordinate marketing activities to deliver the maximum number of enquiries whilst maintaining the culture of both school communities.
The successful candidate will combine a wide range of essential skills, including:
- Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to communicate confidently and effectively with a wide range of people
- Experience of using digital media: website content management (CMS) and social media content management
- Excellent written skills – must be able to demonstrate the ability to write and edit copy for different audiences (website articles, social media posts, press releases, newsletters, emails, letters)
- To support the Marketing Manager with the production of a range of publications: editorial content and design
- Ability to arrange, promote and run events
- Understanding/knowledge of the sales funnel and experience of relationship marketing
- Friendly, confident and outgoing personality to support sales team at exhibitions and events
- Demonstrable IT skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Access); use of bespoke databases
- Bring creativity and innovation, asking questions and generating ideas
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to undertake administrative duties: mailshots, event follow-ups, event schedules etc.
- Self-motivated – ability to work autonomously; to multi-task and prioritise on a daily basis in a busy and dynamic environment
- Sales or marketing experience
- Ability and willingness to work occasional weekends and evenings
Desirable, but not essential skills are:
- Design skills – use of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat)
- Photography skills
- Proofreading skills
- Knowledge of the independent education sector
