The Marketing Associate will assist with the strategic marketing vision and help drive above-market growth within key end markets. He/she will work with product managers to provide sales support for key Hobart Brothers' products by developing educational tools, marketing collateral, and promotions. They will help drive innovation by understanding market trends, conducting market research, and will assist in developing solutions that solve customer pain points.
This role will support the accelerated growth segments within Hobart Brothers. He/she will be based in Troy, Ohio, and report to the Commercial Director.
Core Responsibilities:
- Effectively communicate strong value propositions to end users, distributors, and the ITW Sales team. Develop “Why Change” and "Why Us" Sales messaging that emphasizes Hobart’s differentiation and addresses customer pain points.
- Develop sustained marketing strategies to effectively communicate to target audiences: website, social media posts, trade shows, literature, road show, distributor events, etc.
- Understand and apply the principles of the ITW Welding selling model and provide tools and materials to support the sales team.
- Coordinate efforts with segment-focused resources to ensure an outside-in approach to strategy development by gathering deeper end-market segment understanding (includes market sizing, pervasive trends, common welding applications, and problems, etc.).
- Communicate across divisions to coordinate activities within the Industrial Platform, leveraging the associated marketing activities possible.
- Leverage the capabilities of the ITW Enterprise Marketing team, brand, digital, research, and event management. Develop a culture that encourages integrity, respect, trust, shared risk, and simplicity.

- Qualified candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree.
- Proven ability to analyze current business and end-user needs.

- Comfortable presenting and facilitating before internal and external audiences.

- Expected travel is approximately 30%.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business.
- Knowledge of “Power Messaging” customer-centric techniques is a plus.
- Experience developing content marketing (videos, articles, infographics) is a plus.
- Experience using design and editing software (ex. Adobe InDesign, Adobe Premier Pro) is a plus.
- Experience working with or adjacent to manufacturing processes such as welding or machining is a plus.
