Responsibilities
Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer and working as an integral member of a six-person Marketing & Events Department, the Marketing Assistant fulfills a wide variety of administrative functions for all team members and is responsible for the following day-to-day and longer-term activities:
Business Development
· Assistance in the development of competitive intelligence reports, by tracking competitors’ media presence (coverage, social media posts, thought leadership, etc.) on quarterly basis
· Compilation of full reports after CMO and Manager of Events & Client Services analysis
Website
· All general updates to the firm’s website, which includes posting, removing, and editing a wide range of content and maintaining the home page and banner headlines
· Assistance with and administration of annual and biannual long-form website projects
· Complete administration of all photo shoots
Events
· Comprehensive administrative assistance with firm hosted events, both virtual and in-person, from planning and preparation through execution and follow-up.
Communications
· Updates to various legal directories, including Martindale-Hubbell and Lawyers’ Diary
· Administration and production of RFP responses, pitch books, and PPT presentations
· Management of content repositories and, after training and implementation, utilization of formal RFP response platform
· Blog posting and client alert distribution
Tracking and Archive Maintenance
· News release tracking
· Maintenance of media clipping and print/digital ad archives
· Additional marketing projects as appropriate
Requirements
This position is ideal for a recent college graduate or someone with 1-3 years of experience who is excited to learn a broad range of professional services marketing initiatives, contribute to the high-quality output of a busy team, and have opportunities for advancement. Some law firm experience is a bonus, but not mandatory.
· Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or similar
· Excellent writing and communications skills
· Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
· Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate easily with attorneys and fellow Department members
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools; WordPress and Canva experience appreciated but not required
· Flexibility to travel, though minimally, and to work after-hours events on occasion
